What Are Ionizing Nozzles?

Ionizing nozzles are compact, focused ion-delivery components that can be installed near a target, tool, sensor, camera, feeder, sheet edge, or other restricted process location. They are generally considered when a broad ionizer form is not appropriate and the engineering objective is a controlled, directional delivery path. The key question is whether the installed nozzle can reach the real charged surface under the actual air, geometry, motion and material conditions. 1 2

Ionization can reduce charge on insulated or isolated objects that cannot be effectively controlled through grounding alone. It remains one part of a complete static-control approach and does not replace grounding or process controls for conductive or dissipative items. 1
